German Proverb of the day

"Auch ein blindes Huhn findet mal ein Korn." đŸ”đŸ„ literally means "even a blind chicken finds a seed once in a while".

But what does it really mean and when does a native German speaker use it? It more or less means that "one can have success now and again even without talent or ability". However, the origin of this proverb is not known but it usually means that the desired result was achieved by chance, rather than by one's own ability âš ïžđŸ€”

Person A: Ich bin normalerweise total schlecht in Mathe, hatte aber gestern im Test eine 1. Petson B: Auch ein blindes Huhn findet mal ein Korn. - I usually do pretty badly at maths but yesterday I got an A on the test! – Everyone gets lucky sometimes.

As you can see, the answer is somewhat cynical and mean...
